Villa Circuitus eco-home, Växjö (SE)
Sweden’s first round-shape Passivhaus, designed by Simone Kreutzer and Tommy Wesslund and working with SAJT Arkitektstudio, uses SWISSPACER inside its large windows. The circular design was chosen in order to expose the smallest surface possible to the outdoors and therefore reduce heat loss.
The bespoke windows, designed to retain twice as much heat as ‘standard’ windows, were created by i2 Factory, based in Riga, Latvia. The majority of i2 Factory’s work is used in Passivhaus projects throughout Sweden and the rest of Europe. Recycled paper and glass have also been utilised throughout the structure, and built using Kebony cladding, a modified softwood that is a sustainable alternative to hardwood and the colour will change over time from a rich brown to a silvery grey, with bright contrasting window panels.
